Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Homicide Bureau investigators are advising they have arrested Sandra Chico for the murders of her three children. The incident was reported Monday, June 29, at approximately 12:45 p.m., on the 600 block of Ferris Avenue in East Los Angeles, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said Tuesday.

Deputies from East Los Angeles Sheriff’s Station responded to the location regarding a rescue call which indicated there were two small children not breathing at the location.  .

Upon arrival, they were directed inside the residence where they discovered three unresponsive children all under the ages of 4 years old, two males and one female.

Deputies and Paramedics attempted lifesaving efforts and the three children were subsequently pronounced deceased at the scene.

The coroner’s office identified the children as Mia Camila Rodriguez, 4, and her brothers Mason Mateo Rodriguez, 3, and Milan Matias Rodriguez, who was 1 month old. Their autopsies are pending.

The biological mother of the children, a 28 year old female Hispanic, was being held on $2 million bail and is scheduled to appear in a Los Angeles courtroom on Wednesday, a Sheriff’s Department statement said.

Preliminary information revealed no prior reports of abuse or child neglect to this location or the involved individuals.

Homicide Investigators were processing the scene, collecting evidence, and are conducting interviews of family members and potential witnesses.
