The East Side Riders received two truckloads full of non-perishable food and a $5,000 donation from employees and physicians of Kaiser Permanent Downey Medical Center to support the organization that provide thousands of hot meals to children and families in the Watts community.

Recognizing the need, with 42% of low-income households in Los Angeles County experiencing food insecurity, the physicians and staff at Kaiser Permanente Downey Medical Center wanted to offer their support. More than two thousand pounds of food were unloaded in Watts last Friday, November, 20—just in time for the Thanksgiving holiday.
