Indie comedy darling Napoleon Dynamite makes its way to the Downey Performing Arts Theatre for a one-of-a-kind night on November 18th, starting at 8:00 pm. A screening of the beloved 2004 comedy will be followed by a moderated discussion with members of the cast including: Jon Heder (Napoleon), Efren Ramirez (Pedro), and Jon Gries (Uncle Rico). What insights might they offer into the creation of this quotable classic? What potentially iconic lines may have been left on the cutting room floor? What behind-the-scenes mishaps may have almost derailed the entire production? Were those real tots in Heder’s pocket?
Get there early and meet the photogenic and pet-able impersonator of Tina the Llama, the animal that Napoleon’s family owned in the film (yes, there will be an actual llama). The event promises to be a unique celebration of the nearly 20-year-old indie classic and any fan of the cult hit owes it to themselves to attend. Seats are no doubt going fast, so grab your tickets now. What else you got going on? Making yourself a dang quesadilla?
