The City of Downey announced that it has once again received the Government Finance Officers Association’s (GFOA) Distinguished Budget Presentation Award for its Fiscal Year 2021-22 Budget.
This is the 9th consecutive year the City receives this prestigious budget award. The GFOA Award recognizes the City’s efforts in producing a comprehensive budget document that excels in four major categories such as a policy document, a financial plan, an operations guide and a communications device.
Downey’s FY 2021-22 Budget has once again met the highest principles of governmental budgeting and is a reflection of the City’s continued commitment to ensuring fiscal responsibility and transparency.
“This award represents a significant achievement for our City and would not be made possible without the hard work of our City’s leadership team,” said Mayor Blanca Pacheco.
“I commend City Manager Gilbert Livas, Finance Director Anil Gandhy, and the entire Finance Department for ensuring our City remains fiscally stable.”
Mayor Pro Tem Sean Ashton added, “The consistent receipt of this award demonstrates the dedication and professionalism of our City’s management team, and I could not be prouder of their hard work.”
